Andrea Tassencourt graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Fine Arts, specializing in textile design and woven arts. After moving to Martha’s Vineyard in 1975, she joined the Vineyard Art Worker’s Guild as manager of the Guild Gallery, and continued to work on her own original creations in her studio for several years. From 1985 – 2000 she managed several retail stores, building a strong skill set in both retail sales and customer service, as well as back-office management experience. Opening her own store has been a life-long goal, which is finally being realized as co-owner of Green Energy Design, LLC in Easton, Maryland …!
In her own words…
“The retail division of Green Energy Design, LLC features a unique collection of fine crafts by U.S. artisans, and fairly traded traditional arts by International artisans. This gallery of finely crafted jewelry, home decor and fair-trade gifts, is my dream come true. More importantly, it helps sustain a viable living wage for artisans around the world, lifting them out of poverty and keeping these traditional arts alive and vibrant for generations to enjoy.”
